Glad to Have My Life Back!

I am yet another who has had a lifetime of suffering with sinus problems. Where was this procedure when I was a boy trying to play football and study or even eat with periods of "attacks', that left me with pockets of tissue and or handkerchiefs, yes the more the merrier. It was so bad that my social life was sub-par, I would avoid meals out in order not to be embarrassed with the "drip". Things are completely different now, I actually feel more human in a way, well worth it. Thanks Doc.

4 Years and Couldn't Be Happier With The Decision!

For decades I suffered from year long sinus infections. The symptoms would cycle: pressure would build up in my face with pain between, behind and around my eyes; after a month it would feel better, only to start up again. Anyone that suffers from sinus problems knows how tired this makes you feel! In 2008, a Chicago friend told me about Balloon Sinuplasty. While researching balloon sinuplasty, online, I noticed Dr. Weiss was a lead investigator in a couple of the studies. Even though I live in Louisiana, I thought it was worth the travel to have an “expert in balloon sinuplasty” exam me. After Dr. Weiss reviewed my history, treated me, reviewed the follow-up CT, he told me I would benefit from sinus surgery. He offered both traditional sinus surgery and balloon sinuplasty. I told him that I would like to try balloon sinuplasty. He agreed. A friend traveled with me for the procedure. Dr. Weiss treated all my sinuses and did a few other things within my nose. I went out for lunch after the procedure and back to work the next day. That was 4 years and I couldn’t be happier!

No Pain Before or After

There I was needing Sinuplasty surgery and not looking forward to it. My wife had already had it done by Dr. Weiss Sr. and so had my daughter. So, with tales of terror, pain, and suffering I went to surgery and lo there was no pain before or after. Tales of sleeping while setting up for days on end did not come to past. In fact, I went home had a good night’s sleep and got up to go to work the next morning. But the only reason I didn’t go to work was a drop of blood once or twice an hour, and working around school children would have made that a Bozo no no. Dr. Weiss and staff had done a wonderful and professional job, Keep up the good work! Thanks a lot.

I Can Breathe!

I had not been able to breathe through my nose since I was about 12 or 13. It had been broken several times while playing ice hockey. Every time I went to an ENT I was told that I had a deviated septum and I needed a “roto-rooter” surgery to correct all the issues. I was not thrilled about having my nose broken again and tissue removed. When I met with Dr. Weiss almost 40 years after the first broken nose, he took the time to explain how my nasal passages should be and how they actually were. Ray went into great detail to on the procedure he recommended. At the end of the exam I was convinced to have the procedure.

On the day I was scheduled, I was very nervous, but 5 minutes of talking with Ray calmed me down, and my confidence in his skill was reassured.

It has been three years since my procedure and I can breathe through my nose. After over 50 years of being a “mouth breather” the only thing I had to overcome was to remember to close my mouth while breathing.

Ray and his staff are the best and I would recommend anyone to travel to see him and get “ballooned”.

Fabulous Results

Fabulous results 2 years after the procedure. I'm nearly symptom free. Best thing I could possibly do in terms of desired outcomes. I'm so thankful to Dr Weiss and his staff.

Went the Extra Mile

Dr. Weiss has treated me for allergies since 2006. Then in the summer of 2009 I needed sinus surgery to get relief. My head must be like a dungeon as he struggled to complete the surgury as he prefered it. But it came out well and I gained much relief and am indepted forever. Later my wife, who is a patient with many sinus problems, and I lost insurance when retiring from disability and he would only accept what I could pay,[very little] to treat us. Ray and David along with the other staff are the most professional and really care about you as an individual. They set an example for other physicians everywhere. Keep up the wonderful work!
